The opening idea
Column 3 has only R6C3 left after rose R1C6, magenta R2C1 and violet R4C2. Finding that column single solves the large green region.

Reveal all 6 cat positions
Cat coordinates
- R1C6Row 1, column 6
- R2C1Row 2, column 1
- R3C4Row 3, column 4
- R4C2Row 4, column 2
- R5C5Row 5, column 5
- R6C3Row 6, column 3
The 6 cats occupy distinct rows, columns and regions. Neighboring rows place cats at least two columns apart, so no cats touch at a corner.
Why the key move works
The rose cat is R1C6
Rose is the single square in the upper-right at R1C6. Place its cat and close row 1 and column 6. Cross R2C5 diagonally. The teal area loses its entire top row before you need to make any decision inside it.

These are frames from Beyond Gamer’s recorded Meowdoku playthrough. The clean diagrams use the same region geometry; their colors are visual identifiers. Video trial moves are preserved in the source frames and explained in the captions.
Read the regions before choosing a cat
teal: 17 cells; rose: 1 cell; magenta: 1 cell; green: 10 cells; violet: 1 cell; pink: 6 cells.
Count the remaining candidates in the narrow regions before choosing a square in the larger colors. Follow every region boundary; a color’s cat completes its entire region.
Complete solving process
All steps are shown below. The route uses rule-based deductions and explains each forced square or exclusion. You can use the answer above to check your board without reading the whole sequence.
region 1 has exactly one available square
The rose cat is R1C6
Rose is the single square in the upper-right at R1C6. Place its cat and close row 1 and column 6. Cross R2C5 diagonally. The teal area loses its entire top row before you need to make any decision inside it.
Outlined cells show this step’s change. Cats and X marks carry forward.
region 2 has exactly one available square
The magenta cat is R2C1
Magenta is the single left-edge square at R2C1. Place its cat, close row 2 and column 1, and cross R3C2 diagonally. This removes a teal candidate on the third row and several green candidates on the left edge.
Outlined cells show this step’s change. Cats and X marks carry forward.
region 4 has exactly one available square
The violet cat is R4C2
Violet is the one square at R4C2. Its cat closes row 4 and column 2 and crosses R3C1, R3C3, R5C1 and R5C3. The R3C3 and R5C3 exclusions are the important pair for the next column scan.
Outlined cells show this step’s change. Cats and X marks carry forward.
column 3 has exactly one available square
Column 3 forces green at R6C3
Look down column 3. Rows 1, 2 and 4 are already occupied. R3C3 and R5C3 both touch the violet cat diagonally. R6C3 is therefore the only available square in the whole column. Place the green cat there instead of trying to guess among the broad green bottom cells.
Outlined cells show this step’s change. Cats and X marks carry forward.
region 0 has exactly one available square
Teal is forced to R3C4
Teal’s filled rows are unavailable, and its remaining R3C2/R3C3 cells use occupied columns. The possible R5C4 cell touches the new green cat at R6C3 diagonally. R3C4 is the only surviving teal square. Place it and close column 4.
Outlined cells show this step’s change. Cats and X marks carry forward.
region 5 has exactly one available square
Finish pink at R5C5
Row 5 is the only row still missing a cat. In pink, C6 is already occupied by rose and the other pink rows are solved. R5C5 remains. Place it and verify the column sequence 6, 1, 4, 2, 5, 3.
Outlined cells show this step’s change. Cats and X marks carry forward.
What can go wrong on Level 18?
- After the three anchors, do not keep scanning only the large teal region; column 3 contains the next forced move.
- R5C3 touches the violet cat at R4C2 even though it is in a different color.
- R5C4 is a tempting teal cell, but it touches the green answer R6C3 diagonally.
Audit the row, column, colored region and immediate diagonal neighbors after every cat. If your copied board gives no solution, check uncertain X marks before changing a region boundary.
The lesson to carry into the next board
When no color looks obvious, scan each row and column for one legal cell. The column-3 single is the bridge between the early anchors and the final two colors.
On your next puzzle, look for the same type of constraint before choosing a square. A useful question is: “Which row, column or region now has fewer candidates because of my last cat?” Keep the answer tied to a specific marked cell.

Board transcribed from the original Meowdoku app shown in Beyond Gamer’s linked tutorial. Every region and cat coordinate was independently checked against the opening and completed video frames. Exact constraint enumeration found one solution, and the written logic uses only deterministic rule deductions. The different layout on meowdoku.app at this level number was rejected rather than treated as the original board. Videos may include rejected trial moves (orange crosses) or a different move order; those are not steps to copy. The diagrams and text teach a separate verified route for this exact video layout. No app build number is visible in the tutorial, so this guide identifies the version by source video and board shape.

Level 18 questions
What is the Meowdoku Level 18 answer?
For the 6×6 video board, place the cats at R1C6, R2C1, R3C4, R4C2, R5C5, R6C3. Match the region shapes first.
How do I get unstuck on Meowdoku Level 18?
If you are stuck after rose, magenta and violet, inspect column 3. Its only legal square must be R6C3.
Why does my board look different?
This guide records a specific original app walkthrough. Different game versions, progression or level ordering can show another board with the same number. Compare the opening screenshot and use the solver for a different layout.
